Laura Scofield

Hi, I’m Laura Scofield, a Brazilian, New York–based graphic designer. I’m a Design Director at The Atlantic, working on projects that span branding, events, editorial, and web design, and a part-time faculty member at Parsons School of Design.

My work has been recognized by the Type Directors Club, Society of Publication Designers, D&AD, Cannes Lions, Red Dot, Print, iF and Brazil Design Awards.

I also served as a jury member on the Type Directors Club, Latin American Design Award and Brazil Design Awards. I’m a visiting critic at Parsons Communication Design and former AIGA NY board member.

I also research and lecture about vexillology — the scientific study of the history, symbolism, and usage of flags, or by extension, any interest in flags in general  🏴‍☠️

O que as vandas não contam (What Vandas Don’t Tell): newspaper to showcase Greco Design's portfolio. The title was inspired by a type of orchid that grows in the garden in front of the studio’s meeting room. There, like silent spectators, they passively observe everything that happens day-to-day: conversations with clients, how ideas are created, and team dynamics.
